AnnotationAge Concern England (ACE) welcomes the approach adopted by "Fair access to care services" (FACS), particularly the emphasis on risk to wider issues individual autonomy, and the intention to end discrimination on the grounds of age in the provision of health and social care services. This response raises concerns about the impact of the guidance on current legislation, and the definition of "assessed need". Concerns are also raised about the local variation that the FACS framework will permit, and about the assessment and care planning process. (RH).
