AnnotationEpilepsy is the most common serious neurological disorder and occurs in people of all ages, but its prevalence is highest in old age. The aim of this British Geriatrics Society (BGS) satellite symposium was to raise geriatricians' awareness of issues concerning diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. The hope is that the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF) will have an impact on current epilepsy service provision, and that older people will have better access to services, receive better standards of care, and standard service requirements will be met.
