AnnotationThis report presents information from the second national data collection resulting from the Referrals, Assessments and Packages of Care (RAP) Project. The aim is to provide a fuller picture of the numbers of people receiving community care services and those going through the referral and assessment process carried out by their social services departments (SSDs). The RAP returns (proformas) offer scope to compare information about adult community care by local authority, and provide aggregation to regional and national levels. These findings provide more detailed data on client groups receiving community based services than in the first dress rehearsal. The components of service are: day care; meals; home care or home help. The appendices include a RAP proforma flowchart and a glossary of terms and definitions. These findings are accompanied by an Evaluation Report of this second and last dress rehearsal. The data in this series replaces two annual Statistical Bulletins, those that dealt with Day and Domiciliary Services for Adults and Residential Personal Social Services for Adults. The remaining bulletin, Home Help/Home Care Services continues but online at the DH website. (KJ/RH).
