Annotation | A perspective of psychosocial and spiritual development in the later years of life is used, to outline a study of nurses conducted in six Australian nursing homes, five in Canberra and one in New South Wales. Before and after workshop tests identified changes in nurses' assignment of a list of behaviours to psychosocial or spiritual. Results highlight the potential role for nurses to provide spiritual care as part of holistic care. It also highlights the fact that many nurses feel ill-prepared for this role. (KJ/RH). |
