AnnotationThe video and accompanying booklet explore ways in which music can enhance opportunities for communication with people with dementia. While not about music therapy as such, the aim is to harness music as a resource in ways which can be tailored to the individual's needs and way of being. The video demonstrates the approach of one-to-one interactions, which use empowering techniques such as active listening and mirroring, in which one follows the expressive lead of the other person. The booklet examines principles behind the work shown in the video. (RH).
