Annotation | Are you worried about the treatment your older relative might receive in a care home? "Showing restraint", a report by Counsel and Care, warns that care home residents are being restrained against their will. It reveals how care home staff admitted that older patients are locked up, drugged, imprisoned at night by bed-rails, and have their walking frames and call buzzers removed. This article summarises the report's findings, which appear to be similar to the situation in the US. (RH). |
