AnnotationElder abuse can be difficult to detect, so it is vital that a range of services collaborate to develop a unified strategy to prevent and deal with incidents of abuse. This article outlines progress with tackling abuse since the introduction of the NHS and Community Care Act 1990, from "No longer afraid" (1993), to "No secrets" (1999), both guidance documents from the Department of Health (DH) and the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI).
