AnnotationData on household structure and informal sources of help with specific domestic and personal care are compared for Beijing, China and Liverpool. Although the two cultures have different modal household composition, similar sources of informal support are identified for both countries. The major differences represent differences in household structure. Despite the wide differences between these two dissimilar cultures, more similarities than differences were found. (RH).
