| Annotation | Annual series. Provides statistical information on a variety of aspects of economic, social, financial and industrial life in the United Kingdom. This compendium draws together statistics from a wide range of official and other authoritative sources and includes data to enable historical comparison, as well as explanatory notes and definitions. Data is divided into five parts which align with their equivalents in "UK .... : the official yearbook of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", so that the two books can be consulted as complementary volumes. From 2005, this title is published by Palgrave Macmillan and the format has changed. Current information on older people can largely be found under the chapter headings: Population and vital statistics; Labour market; Social protection; and, Lifestyles. From 2010, this annual will be available only online from the ONS website, unless specifically subscribed to from a licensed seller of ONS publications or Palgrave Macmillan, the ONS publishing partner.
