Annotation | The purpose of the Joint Review is to assess the extent to which people in the London Borough of Islington are well served by their social services. The review finds that some people are well served, and that the prospects of services improving in the future are promising. There was a low response rate (34%) to the postal questionnaire; 59% of service users responding said they thought the service was "good" or "excellent". Islington is actively working in partnership with the NHS, including development of integrated teams supporting adults and older people. The authority is also actively promoting national agendas for older people and mental health users; and Best Value is being used to drive change and create better outcomes for service users and carers. Examples of good practice, include: the Integrated Primary Care Team (IPCT); and a Low Vision Clinic, in partnership with the RNIB, Camden and the health authority. Key issues and priorities identified for action include improving customer care and consistency in care management. (RH). |
