Annotation | This guideline was developed and written under the auspices of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) Panel on Falls in Older Persons and approved by the AGS Board of Directors on 5 April 2001. The guideline's aim is to assist health professionals in their assessment of fall risk, and in their management of older patients who are at risk of falling and those who have fallen. Recommendations are made on interventions to prevent falls. The guideline also identifies issues related to falls prevention that should be given high priority for future research and analysis.
