Annotation | "Quality of life and social support among people from different ethnic groups" is one of several projects funded under the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Growing Older initiative. The study is being undertaken by the REU (formerly the Race Equality Unit of the National Institute for Social Work, NISW), and has a focus on issues to do with ethnicity. This article outlines issues arising from the initial fieldwork: perceptions of ethnicity; the role of religion and spirituality; health and experience of ageing; and responsibility for care in old age.
