Social work and palliative care critical commentary | Author(s) | Neil Small |
Journal title | British Journal of Social Work, vol 31, no 6, December 2001 |
Pages | pp 961-972 |
Keywords | Social work ; Terminal care ; Literature reviews. |
Annotation | There has been a continuing wish to firmly identify the social work role within palliative care. Indeed, social workers have made a significant contribution to developing links with and practice in palliative care, there being some 200 attached to specialist teams in the UK. This critical commentary draws together some of the contributions to understanding the interface between social work and palliative care. It should be noted that the amount published in peer reviewed journals is very small. Given the paucity of this literature, this commentary strays quite far into the past and looks to books as well as journal articles. (RH). |
