Annotation | This report presents information from the national data collection resulting from the Referrals, Assessments and Packages of Care (RAP) Project. The aim of RAP is to provide a fuller picture of the numbers of people receiving community care services and those going through the referral and assessment process carried out by their social services departments (SSDs). The RAP returns (proformas) offer scope to compare information about adult community care by local authority, and provide aggregation to regional and national levels. The components of service are: day care; meals; home care or home help. This report contains a summary of key findings and 5 sections: sections 3 and 4 provide the main findings with the main results at national level, and section 5 provides the data in table format. The data in this series replaces two annual Statistical Bulletins, those that dealt with Day and Domiciliary Services for Adults and Residential Personal Social Services for Adults. The remaining bulletin, Home Help/Home Care Services continues but online at the DH website (latest 2003). A number of the data items collected on RAP are used in the calculation of Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) indicators. An annual report of social services PAF indicators is published by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). (KJ/RH). |
