Annotation | The Project began in 1997 with the aim of considering public health in its broadest sense. Five major themes are discussed: a wider understanding of health and well-being; better co-ordination and communication within the public health function; effective joined up working; sustained community development and public involvement; and an increase in capacity and capabilities in the public health function. Other chapters deal with strengthening particular aspects of the public health function, such as health protection and primary care. (RH). |
