AnnotationServices for older people in East Lothian have generally been found to be performing well, but areas for improvement are suggested. This inspection review reports on how services meet SHAS quality indicators with regard to general policies, management of services, service delivery, quality of life, and planning and assessing need. Day-to-day care provided throughout the service was good. Examples of good practice include activities of the community rehabilitation team, information to patients, and joint working with old age psychiatry. Problems identified include a lack of occupational, speech and language therapists, and over-provision of NHS respite care. (RH).
