Annotation | Despite the prevalence of accidents involving older drivers in the US, no US state has developed a transport policy for older people that integrates both relicensing older drivers and alternatives to driving. This article gives an overview of state relicensing policies governing older drivers, which range from age 50 in Oregon to 81 in Illinois. Irrespective of the diversity of regulatory strategies, these do not answer how best to support Americans' lifetime transport needs. (RH). |
