AnnotationThis Order provides for the coming into force of some provisions of the Care Standards Act 2000. It brings into force on 4th October 2001 section 112 of the Act, which amends the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970, so that powers of local authorities to charge for certain non-residential services are to be treated as social services functions as defined by the 1970 Act. It is also brings into force on that day section 117(2) of, and Schedule 6 to, the Act, in so far as they repeal section 18(1) and (3) of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970. Section 18(1) and (3) provides for local authorities to supply information as to residential accommodation which is provided under Part III of the National Assistance Act 1948 for persons under 65 and over 65 in the same premises.
