AnnotationGerontology has a future in business and industry because its professional agenda, ageing studies, and the development and marketing of strategies for an ageing workforce coincide with workplace needs. Gerontologists are prepared to educate and counsel employees on pre-retirement and retirement issues; initiate, administer and advise on ageing research projects; serve as geriatric care managers for adult children and their ageing relatives; and manage older clients' social service or health care needs as members of interdisciplinary teams administering financial trusts and estates.
