Annotation | In order to prevent "bed-blocking" and "winter emergencies" in our hospitals, funding needs to be targeted at preventing hospital admissions, and instead developing different forms of community care. This editorial refers to an article in this issue of Age and Ageing by Challis et al, on intensive care management at home as an alternative to nursing or residential home care. (RH). |
