Annotation | Driving can be a very important issue for people in the early stages of dementia. The authors report and comment on responses to their study in which people with dementia and carers gave their reasons for stopping driving, how the decision was made, and their views on driving assessments. This research was commissioned from the Centre for Social Research on Dementia at the University of Stirling by the Scottish Executive's Central Research Unit, as a direct result of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.
