Annotation | Highland Primary Care Trust is responsible for specialist adult community and inpatient learning disability services. This review by the Scottish Health Advisory Service (SHAS) focuses mainly on the quality of care and services for inpatients at New Craigs, and the management and organisation of the service as a whole. As well as using the SHAS Quality Indicators to evaluate the service, reference is also made to the Scottish Executive review of learning disability services, "The same as you?" The problem identified by the report is that services are poorly resourced to meet the needs of different communities in the Highlands. Examples of good practice include reviewing health needs, and the involvement of service users and carers. (RH). |
