AnnotationThere have been major changes in Public Call Box (PCB) usage in recent years, due to increased ownership of mobile phones. Oftel conducted this consultation on proposals for future regulation against the background of a changing market and the continued need for access to payphone services for vulnerable groups. This consultation sought comments on: guidelines on re-siting and removal of PCBs and criteria for installing new PCBs on the grounds of social need; and guidelines on call barring to PCBs. (RH).
