AnnotationVariations and inequities are highlighted in the accessibility of, and payment for, medical, nursing, rehabilitation and other health services and equipment, both between and within homes for older people in England. The authors conducted a survey within 72 Primary Care Groups and Trusts (PCGs and PCTs). The owners, managers and matrons of 174 nursing, 221 residential and 175 dual registered homes (75%) responded to a structured questionnaire, which sought information on the characteristics of each home and access to general practitioners (GPs) and other health services. This summary outlines the key findings of the survey. (RH).
