AnnotationUndiagnosed depression can have a serious negative effect on quality of life. The authors describe a pilot study by the Bury St Edmunds Primary Care Group (PCG), with the aim of supporting people with depression in sheltered accommodation and residential and nursing homes. The project suggests that it is possible for care staff to screen residents for depression, and that there is good potential for screening and intervention to improve care home residents' mood. (RH).
