Annotation | In an ageing society, the need for holistic care of frail older people cannot be neglected. There is also a growing awareness of their spiritual needs, and of the need for those who care for them to be well prepared to identify and meet these needs. This study uses in-depth interviews with older people living independently in the community, to examine how they perceive their spirituality or meaning in life. The study considers the relationship between reminiscence and spiritual integrity in the older person, and how the spiritual dimension of ageing contributes to well-being and health in later life.
