AnnotationGeneral standards of health care for older people in West Glasgow have been found to be good, but with considerable variation across different parts of the service. This report examines how SHAS quality indicators are being met with regard to management of services, service delivery, quality of life, and planning and assessing need. Good day-to-day care was observed throughout the service, and many areas of good practice identified. Although there was no evidence of satisfaction surveys being conducted to find out patients' views, older people completing the questionnaire for the SHAS review reported general satisfaction with the services they received. The review found that services were being guided by a number of different policies, and there was no evidence of a single coherent strategy. Recommendations are made accordingly. (RH).
