AnnotationA six-month study aimed to determine the reliability and concurrent and predictive validity of the DETERMINE Your Nutritional Health Checklist. A combination of anthropometric and blood biochemistry values for a sample of 20 older women (aged 61 to 82 years) were used as standards to determine validity. The checklist scores which averaged 5.1 to 5.5 were significantly correlated across time, providing evidence for reliability. The checklist identified 40% of the sample to be at high nutritional risk. However anthropometric and biochemical data did not support this classification. For this apparently healthy group, the checklist was reliable, but the predictive validity was negligible. (KJ/RH).
