Annotation | A random sample of 150 Irish patients aged 65+ who had been discharged from a private psychiatric hospital over a 3-year period were selected for this case note study of factors affecting length of stay. Experiencing recurrent falls whilst an inpatient is associated with prolonged stay. Implementing procedures to reduce fall risk at ward level may in turn reduce length of stay. (RH). |
