Annotation | Articles in this issue of the Journal of Interprofessional Care discuss some boundaries that can sometimes cause tension and discontinuity for successful ageing. Contributions on the development of long-term care in Hong Kong and Taiwan comment on people's social and cultural expectations, which have raised challenges for professional support and collaborative practice. The question of the responsibility for assessment in care management is is explored in the context of developing services in Japan, and an ethnographic study of the similarities and differences between social workers' and district nurses' assessment practices. Papers from the US present a cross-cultural comparison of the development of geriatric assessment teams in the US and the UK; and an examination of informal roles and stages of interdisciplinary team development.
