AnnotationA possible relationship between gerotranscendence and life satisfaction was examined using the life narrative approach, followed by thematic semi-structured interviews with religious and secular Iranians residing in Sweden, and religious and secular Turks residing in Turkey. Both the Turkish and the Iranian studies provide support for the hypothesis that there is a relationship between gerotranscendence and life satisfaction. Both studies show that those who displayed evidence of gerotranscendence also displayed evidence of life satisfaction. Additionally, neither study revealed informants displaying gerotranscendence in the absence of discernible life satisfaction. (KJ/RH).
