Annotation | 15 demented nursing home residents with agitation were admitted to a New York hospital's geriatric psychiatry service. Over a 15 day period, their overall clinical improvement was assessed with the "global assessment of functioning scale". Patients showed significantly more overall clinical improvement at discharge compared with admission. Agitation scores (on the "brief agitation rating scale") were also significantly lower at discharge and follow-up compared with admission. (RH). |
