Annotation | This Declaration, signed by many nations and associations, follows on from a three-day symposium in May 1999 under the patronage of the Intergovernmental Agency for Francophone Communities of UNESCO, the International Francophone Older Persons' Association (AIFA), and the International Youth Forum for Francophone Communities (FIJEF). The theme of the symposium was "Intergenerational understanding: a strategy for all ages". The work sessions that took place during the symposium resulted in the adoption and signing of this Declaration, which has 18 Articles and covers four spheres: Human values; Education and culture; Life in society; and Economy and social policies.
