Annotation | The small proportion of minority ethnic older people in relation to their own communities and to the overall population of older people has meant that little attention has been paid to their needs. Middlesbrough has an ethnic minority population of 4.4%. This survey was carried out during 1999 as part of Middlesbrough's Action Pilot for Older People, and was designed to provide information on those aged 50+, particularly on their health and lifestyles.
