Annotation | This review found a number of initiatives being developed by psychiatric services in Tayside to improve the care of older people. The inspection looks at how SHAS quality indicators are being met with regard to assessment of need, delivery of care, community mental health teams (CMHTs), mental health day services, and clinical governance. Day hospital care was identified as the least developed service. Examples of good practice include: use of assessment by nurses in both inpatient and community settings; how delayed discharge is managed; and advocacy services. (RH). |
