AnnotationThis two-year King's Fund project has drawn on work with five primary care organisations (PCOs), all of which were primary care groups (PCGs) when the project commenced. The five PCOs were chosen, because they had identified the development of services for older people as a priority. The project's aim was to see what could be achieved by those with a particular commitment to this user group. This second of two reports on the project (covering August 2000 to July 2001) considers: older people and their carers as a priority; involving older people and carers in the evaluation, planning and delivery of services; knowledge about the local community; capacity to work in partnership, develop and implement plans; and implications for policy and practice. The first report was "Primary care groups and older people: signs of progress". (RH).
