AnnotationFour out of ten people with learning disabilities arrive in a residential home for older people before their 65th birthday. These people have few opportunities for daytime activities, and so become isolated. Consequently, their misplacement in services for older people leaves them very vulnerable. This article outlines information included in the White Paper, "Valuing people: a new strategy for learning disability for the 21st century". (RH).
