Annotation"The right of older workers to education in a knowledge-based economy" was the theme of a paper by Jim Soulsby of NIACE (the National Institute on Adult Continuing Education). Other topics discussed included: the right to education as a human right for older people; pre-retirement education; knowledge acquisition and exchange of experience between the generations; and seniors' studies and cultural exchange. Plenary discussions centred on lifelong learning to fight social exclusion, and integration of older workers in a knowledge-based economy (including knowledge acquisition via the Internet). (RH).
