AnnotationEmployment is an area where disabled people feel discrimination keenly; and opportunities for employment have a major impact on their lives in terms of self-fulfilment, income and interactions in society. This report is based on inspections in Buckinghamshire, Co Durham, Hertfordshire, Knowsley, Plymouth, Salford, Wandsworth, and Wokingham. The inspections assessed the effectiveness of work with disabled people in securing and being supported in employment. The report makes recommendations and provides examples of good practice with regard to: effectiveness of service delivery and outcomes; quality of services for service users in helping them to make informed choices; fair access to services; cost and efficiency; and organisation and management.
