AnnotationThe Dementia Primary Health Care Training Initiative is a unique Scottish-based training and education project to increase awareness of dementia issues with general practitioners (GPs) and community nurses. This report brings together both the literature on GP training and the research survey findings - including attitudes to dementia, issues that caused stress, and the impact of the training - from 370 GPs and 600 nurses participating in the project which ran from 1995 to 1998. Journal articles written about the project are also included. The research was funded variously by the Allied Dunbar Foundation, the Robertson Trust, and the Mrs Mitchell's Charitable Trust. (RH).
