Annotation | A cornerstone of the National Service Framework (NSF) for Older People is that the same comprehensive range of services should be provided for older people as for their younger counterparts. Older people with mental illness who commit crime have long been neglected in terms of research and service provision. This is at last beginning to change as in-patient units designed specifically for the assessment and treatment of offenders are developed. This article considers the evidence of older people as perpetrators of crime, and the dearth of literature and research on older offenders. (RH). |
