Annotation | "Social focus on men" is the ninth in the Social Focus series, and provides an overview of the changing lives and roles of men in the UK. It uses charts, text and simple tables to present information (some by age group) from a wide range of statistics and other official publications. General themes covered are: men at home; education and qualifications; work; income and spending; health; and lifestyles. Only Table 5.22 has an older people focus: "elderly people who are unable to manage certain tasks without help: by gender and age, 1998-99". As with other publications in the series, it is aimed at a broad audience, from policy-makers to schools and the general public. (RH). |
