Annotation | This report documents an important experiment in consultation undertaken jointly by the Carers Unit and the Community Living Development Team at the King's Fund Centre, who felt that existing methods of consultation with users and carers were less than satisfactory. The Search conference method, the subject of this report, presents an alternative model for consideration by local and health authorities, and by users and carers. Topics covered include: planning the Search conference; advice on practical organisation; and reflections from a carer, service user and facilitator involved with workshops on the method in 1990.
