AnnotationThrough a literature review, this article aims to identify the needs of people with dementia who wish to remain at home, and those of their carers. It takes as its starting point work on dementia care mapping (DCM) developed by Tom Kitwood and others. It maps a range of community services that can be linked together to meet these needs comprehensively: communication; advocacy, befriending, information; diagnosis, referral, assessment, risk; housing and technology; specialist home care; respite and day care; and financial management and guardianship.
