AnnotationThe Nottingham Community Osteoporosis (NOCOS) study aims to establish risk factors for fractures and falls. Calcaneal bone density was measured in 453 older men and women, 7% of whom had a history of Colles' fracture. The prevalence of osteoporosis and osteopaenia was higher in women with a previous distal fracture. (RH).
