Journal title | Education and Ageing, vol 16, no 1, 2001 |
Pages | pp 39-54 |
Keywords | Informal care ; Dementia ; Attitude ; Personality ; Cognitive processes. |
Annotation | The conversational processes, through which the moral identity of people with dementia and their informal carers is socially constructed, are examined. Data are taken from 24 semi-structured interviews with the family carers and analysed using techniques from conversational analysis. The use of moral identity within accounts as a means of enhancing their credibility is demonstrated. (RH). |
