Annotation | Abbeyfield UK commissioned the research on which this report is based in October 1999, under the title "New models of housing and care". The research is placed within a context that recognises the unique nature of Abbeyfield societies, and responds to the changing broader agendas associated with policy and practice frameworks of services for older people. The report examines the agendas affecting service providers more generally and Abbeyfield in particular, and the parameters that need to underpin new provisions. A selection of "cameos" (short descriptions of some initiatives that are under development or have been developed in the UK) illustrate some of the points made. (RH). |
