Annotation | Falls are often a sensitive signal of unidentified and unmet health risk and health care need for many older people. The basis for and implications of inclusion in the National Service Framework for older people of a defined service model for falls and their consequences is considered. The risk factors for fall and osteoporotic fractures, and the standards for early identification and preventive management for those at high risk are outlined. This is the last in a series of four articles on care of older people. (RH). |
