AnnotationA general reduction of working time has often been proposed as a means of reducing gender disparities. This report investigates actual innovations in working time and the potential for such innovations from a gender perspective, considering their impact on women workers. The report identifies innovations such as time banking and individual time contracts. It examines the impact of social security, working time regulations and taxation on working time patterns for both men and women. These factors are also considered for individual EU Member States.
