Annotation | Previous research has demonstrated, that, given the right support, individuals with dementia can express opinions about services. However, staff need help with identifying and using opportunities for meaningful consultation. The findings are summarised of Kate Allan's study, "Communication and consultation: exploring ways for staff to involve people with dementia in developing services" (Policy Press, 2001). The focus was on the process of undertaking service user consultation with people with dementia, and how they can express their views and preferences. (RH). |
